I've started this blog as a way to share my stories that are set in a fictional world I've created, which I call the Squashed Forest. I started coming up with some of the characters and ideas for the forest in 2019, and have been (very slowly) developing it since then.
This year I've gotten into gear a bit more and gone from writing basic notes and ideas down to creating proper stories. In May I released the first comic, entitled "Nuts", which I am self-publishing (i.e. printing each copy to order at home) and selling on my etsy shop. This isn't by any means the first story set in the forest, but it's something I started writing last year which turned out to be a fairly good introduction to some of the main characters, Figbert, Trowl and Mandelbert.
Since then I've been writing and planning more stories, but sadly I've realised that I won't have time to create everything that's in my head as full comics, not anytime soon anyway. However, I would like to be able to share what I've been writing, so this blog will be the place I share it to, for the time being at least. I may update posts in the future if I'm able to create any illustrations for them, or even release them as little zines in my shop.
I'm hoping to use this as a bit of a no frills creative outlet, so there'll likely be first drafts and stream-of-consciousness nonsense on here too, but I'll do my best for things to make a bit of sense.
